Target Audience

The target audience for our film is males aged between 15-30. We have chosen this age range because this is the group most affected by the social issues our film portrays (unchecked mental illness) and because this is the audience who typically consumes thriller-mysteries. It should also be noted that because a huge aspect of this film is the mystery, this is the group most capable of following it and understanding it and it's themes. Though females will most likely enjoy the movie for it's interesting narrative, they may not be able to relate to the main character as much as the male audience. 15 is the starting age because younger people may find the psychological themes disturbing.

Also, this has been the age range that other films of our genre have been very successful in, such as: Zodiac and Seven.

Final Outline For Opening Sequence

Our opening sequence begins with a close up of an open lifeless hand in the dirt, followed by a panning shot from the hand up the bodies arm to it's face revealing a man with his eyes closed, seemingly dead. He is dirty and he has blood on his temple. It's clear that he's been in a violent altercation. In the same shot his eyes pop open.

As soon as his eyes open, there is a cut to a long shot which reveals the full scene: A man is sitting up on the woodland floor, next to him there are two bloodied corpses. The man who has just sat up looks around and lets out a scream in panic while clutching his head in pain.

He then stands up and moves slowly over to one of the corpses and crouches over it. There is a large bloodstain on it's stomach, he then searches the corpse's jacket pocket where he finds a pistol. The sight of the pistol triggers a flashback and the screen turns grey, it shows the back of the man's head as he aims the pistol at the two men who are now dead in front of him (extremely short shot).

We then quickly snap back to the present day, and while he's still examining the gun,  a phone rings, the sound is coming from the other body behind him. He then quickly crawls over to the body, takes the still ringing phone out of the jacket pocket, stands up, answers it and says: 'Hello?'. Then there is a quick fade to black and the films title appears on screen.
